The Most Annoying Consumer

I'm the kind of guy who almost never buys anything full retail, waits for sales of at least 75% to 90%, doesn't give a single damn fuck about companies, and never gets hyped for absolutely anything.
I'm in short, The Most Annoying Consumer for Companies.
I don't care if you try to make it sound like the best thing ever.
You're trying to sell this product to me. So I won't trust a goddamn thing you say.
I'll only trust the word of reviewers I know won't screw me over, and is willing to make an unbiased opinion.

Unless you sell your game at an incredibly low price, or it's actually a series I goddamn enjoy and want more of it (Which is rare to come by).
You're not getting this wad of cash I'm holding.
No matter what your intent is. Or what you stand for.
I'm technically your boss.
I pay you for your good work.
And if you screw me over, I won't pay you anything.

I don't care if you're doing this or revolutionizing that.
I will get around to it eventually.
For a huge fraction of the original price.
So I just have to wait.

I don't need your "Collector's Edition" of crap.
Nor do I need your "Deluxe Edition" of bullshit.
I just want the product.
A product that will satisfy me and a product that will entertain me.
If you don't have that product.
Well, too bad.
This money will go to someone else who deserves it more.

Next time.
Try to......

  • Keep the price low. Nobody wants to pay full retail.
  • Don't add microtransactions if it's a paid product.
  • If you're planning to add a DLC, make sure it's worth the price.
  • Don't use bullshit stuff like "achievements" as a selling point.
  • Don't piss me off.
  • Be independant. Try to not rely on the trap that is the AAA Industry.
  • If you're AAA, don't try to shove down shit I don't need down my throat.
  • Listen to your community and don't bitch about your game if we call out on your bullshit.
  • If you want to market, don't try to lie or manipulate your audience.
  • And if you do, I'll call you out. I'm sure at least a thousand dollars worth of sales lost would make you listen next time?
So yeah.
If you try to screw me over.
I have a ton of ways to screw you over as well.
